So... yeah, here is another step on my "Learning to animate" series, this one being about doing a simple looping motion that can be repeated many times... an ancient technique adopted and perfected by hentai since time immemorial... It also features some exercises into camera movement, facial expressions and collision simulation. Sadly, the collision part was... spotty.
I figured a nice way to give the tongue some flexibility and collision detection, while following the pre-determined path laid by it's bones (yeah, tongues have bones in the land of 3D), I can even make it interact with the foot wrinkle simulation... the problem seem to be some jankyness, the tongue tends to be really wobbly and have some clipping issues, which causes it to wobble and bounce even more. I'll need further testing and practice on this, if I can get this to work properly, it will be golden~
Also... if you ever try to learn 3D, and tutorials say you need to do the armature a certain way... don't be a smart-ass like I was, follow the damn tutorial right. "Oh I don't need to bother naming all the bones, that's a waste of time" I said, "Oh I don't need to make the IK controllers control the rotation of the hands and feet, that's only useful in advanced animation" I said... 3 years later and here I am, having to update all my models to have those features cuz I fucking need them to animate >_>; (that's how I got the hand of tails to stay stuck to her feet while the rest of the body moves, if you were curious)
