Ever since Super Smash Bros. Ultimate came out, my partner has held a vendetta against it for their decision to include Pokemon's spicy cat boi over their grassy son. While I'm fairly indifferent to the inclusion especially given Decidueye's very well executed inclusion in Pokken, I can understand their frustration. They pretty much got no one they wanted and this was the one character they felt assured would show up, but to no avail.
Still, I will say this. Much like Captain Falcon before them, I feel Incineroar has found a new home among the ranks of Smash and is easily more defined by it's portrayal in that series then it it's origin. They just managed to give it the much needed personality it was so sadly lacking in Pokemon and I've come to fully welcome. (and despite all my partner tries to say, so do they as Incineroar is now their main... just don't tell them I told you that!)
Decidueye is also one of the Pokemon I've been itching to get my hand at redesigning, as my partner and I both agree that it definitely has pros and cons to it's design. This is of course, just my own feelings but it was fun to finally take a crack at hammering out the few design flaws that I see, that keep it from being one of my more loved Pokemon.
