As some of you may know, last week a few Japanese artists have moved off Patreon recently as a result of them cracking down on NSFW images and how they're drawn. Really insane drama about the "face looking too young" or something. I feel like it's only a matter of time until they start cracking down further, maybe even getting rid of NSFW entirely ala Tumblr and depriving a lot of people of a livelihood. Because of that, I've been very busy this week coming up with a solution.
Interesting. Pixiv Fanbox. I should look into that. Far too many artists are complaining they can't post their works on Patreon for one reason or another.
One had a horse 3D model called Pepper used in some NSFW art and animations, later made into a more cartoony looking Alicorn, due to complaints the horse looked too real. It was OKed at first by Patreon. Then shortly after the developer was told to remove Pepper again, despite Pepper was made far more fantasy looking much like his other models. So he drooped using Pepper entirely, despite putting a lot of work into making Pepper. O.o
Some are getting fed up with using Patreon, due to it's some what prudish rules. That, and with so much of many developer's content being posted on Yiff-Party for fee viewing too, cuts into a developer's livelihood also. O.o

yup! Although fanbox requires standard japanese censorship. This can help with that, too, should those artists want to do that, although it may be a legal gray area. Diffs would have to be hosted off-site on a non-japanese server, like on twitter or baraag or something =w=

I looked through their terms of service, unless someone takes you to court japanese law doesnt get involved as stated in legal liability clause in their terms of service
"We do not take any responsibility for the legality, accuracy, etc. of the information of works submitted by creators. We do not take any responsibility for the propriety of the information posted by the creator regarding the internal rules of the corporation or organization to which the user belongs."
Edit: i recommend checking it out if you really want a substitute for patreon, as long as you aren't governed by japan you should be fine.

I'll have to look into it a bit more! I was certain that if the content is hosted on their system that it had to use standard mosaics, but I'm definitely curious if it's already being used by artists as a platform to deliver uncensored stuff. Gotta wonder how long that would last given the current environment, but heck. Fanbox does sound alright.

yeah i agree, honestly, from what forums say and various twitter sources, they generally don't mess with western artists, probably because they can tell from the english and the style :b
