I had my Valetnein's card ready, with a candy-heart taped to it. I tried to make it "pretty;" as best a boy can, anyway. A little bit of glitter, a few stickers, and a little note in my best chicken-scratch.
When I got to Lolly's house, her mom told me she was in the kitchen. When I wondered around the corner, I caught her just tying up a little box she had. She was wearing a nice dress, and an apron. She almost looked striaght out of a Disney movie.
"Lemmy!" She squealed, skipping over to me. She stood on her tippies-toesies, and gave me a smooch on the cheek. It caught me by surprise! I bashfully looked over my shoulder to see her mom had caught it--but in that quick glance I didn't really see anything. I looked back to Lolly, who had landed back onto her heels.
She made the little box dance a little between her hands. "I made you some chocolates," she said. "Will you be my Valentine?"
I chuckled. "O'course," and pulled the card out of my back pocket. It had gotten just a little warped, and the little chocolate heart made the corner heavy, causing it to go a bit flimsy. "Will you be mine?" I asked, trying to hold the card at an angle so it didn't flop.
"I'd love to be!" She said with excitement, as we exchanged our gifts. She opened the card up to see what was inside.
Shoulda... Maybe put at least one more little chocolate heart on it...
