There's a tendency in furry to write idealized characters, and that's fine for some people, but that's not been my experience in real life. There's a level of discord between them that they grow to adapt to, and that's why I write them the way I do. They're "treasured guests" (this is a Disney term for unruly parkgoers), not model citizens. Berry's mom isn't beyond exploiting him for extra cash, his dad is away for weeks at a time, and Barrett is often too tired from being a single dad to teach my fursona everything he needs to know.
