Rune Spark is a unicorn who, as a little colt, discovered a fascination with magic. It inspired him! But his only problem was his horn was really weak. He kept holding out hope that one day his magic would strengthen to that of any other unicorn... but it didn't. He was among the last in his class to get his cutiemark. The only thing he loved was magic, inspired by the likes of famous wizards throughout history, and even Princess Celestia's young prodegy, Twilight Sparkle. but he just couldn't do magic like they could. But one day, while exploring a special location lost to the eyes of most ponies, Rune Spark stumbled upon a special place deep inside some buried ruins, and there he found writings on a 'new' form of magic some ancient lost ponies were evidently trying to research, but didn't get to far before... well, something caused them to abandon this temple. Regardless, Rune took the books and scrolls back with him, and studied them. They were of a form of magic involving the creation of formulas and runes using glyphs and control lines. It was magic, but so scientific... mathmatical. But the best part? All the formulas needed was a single drop of magic to activate. Just one spark. So he finally had found a form of magic he could do! and it was one that had been almost completely never researched before. And oh boy, there was a lot of possibilities to research here. So that began Rune Spark's life as a magic researcher and wizard. Now, he lives in Ponyville, as it's a quiet enough town to allow him time to conduct his studies, but still has everything he needs. He ended up making some friends along the way though.
