You know age isn't really what gets you a cutie mark, right? It's the discovery of your special talent, and your own personality. So if if somepony who doesn't have a cutie mark yet gets aged up, then of course they still don't have the mark in the "older" form.
Anyone who knows the show will understand that without explanation.
