Another AMAZING character ref drawn by anabel featuring my pathfinder tengu, Ebonfeather. He's a devout worshiper of a pathfinder deity, Shelyn. Anabel did a GREAT job on this, and I HIGHLY recommend you go check her out if you aren't already following her. If anyone has any questions about him, for whatever reason, please feel free to ask!
Greetings, Ebonfeather! I'm a Pathfinder 1e fan, and lately I've been exploring the Tengu and Kenku who have passed through here and left their footprint. I've spoken with some of them (like a sniper who goes by the name Longshot), and now I'd like to hear from you, if you don't mind :D
I'd like to hear Ebonfeather's story. I say "was" because this illustration of him is a few years old now. Or perhaps you created the character but he hasn't had a proper campaign yet? Or, what level was he the last time you played him?
At first glance, I really like the colorfulness of his feathers (I've already seen in another illustration that he seem to be gay, nice!, you're already on my interest ;3 ). I also remember that in one of the official Pathfinder 1e manuals it says that since they all look pretty much the same to non-Tengu, some of them paint their feathers in certain colors to make themselves more distinguishable. I'am not sure if it was specifically in the Advanced Race Guide (although unfortunately it only has two columns on a single page and immediately starts describing archetypes just for Tengu and other rules and items) or perhaps it was mentioned in the lamentable three-paragraph entry on Inner Sea Races? Although in the third paragraph I remember them mentioning that the Tengu recently claimed a territory (Kwanlai) in Tian Xia to take as a home for their race... Paizo never officially created anything like Kobolds of Golarion or Elves of Golarion. But there's Advanced Races Tengu, which by far gives the most detail to the race in every way... although it's a 3rd Party Open Design that is not set in Golarion but in another setting called Midgard, but the compilation is of very good quality, and it can be exported.

Hey! Yeah, I've played him in a few campaigns. He's actually my second favorite character to play! Though he hasn't been able to get through a full campaign proper.
Ebonfeather is more Bisexual, as he's a pretty devout follower of Shelyn, Who's more about Love for everyone. But he does have a male preference.
As far as the colors, I remember reading that too, and thought that like Shelyn's Holy Symbol(see his chest) he could dye his tailfeathers to show his devotion. So I decided on a primarily black color scheme, with bits of pops of rainbow colors. If you have any questions about him, feel free to ask!

I love that you remain loyal/sticking to him. I saw that you recently did another draw of him (very hot, by the way); you must know since I favorited that one too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ) In Pathfinder and D&D, I play kobolds and I'm very loyal to one in particular. I never play the same character twice because each one has its own stories/lives... so in each campaign I prefer to create a different kobold. I spend a lot of time researching and thinking while creating a character, days just deciding a character sheet. Right now, I was researching Tengu/Kenku for a friend who's going to create one, but I'll be the one dealing with the mechanics of the system

I'm not very Interested gods, personally, same with healing magic, creating water/food, and other things that harm immersion or make everything too much like a video game (it's terrible how much immersion is lost/skipped with Instant healing of wounds). But I would like all that if what they granted were "healing" in the form of temporary health points, something like an adrenaline rush which temporarily slow down the bleeding and mitigates the pain. That's why I really like the idea of that Barbarian Rage thing where they gain temporary health points only while in Rage, so when it ends the Barbarian could fall unconscious or even die... that's SUPER epic. I thought I remembered that Shelyn is primarily the goddess of beauty or beautiful things, which is why she's the goddess of art too (and so... love is the most beautiful thing?). I suppose you could interpret that everything has some beauty or that everything can be beautiful depending on how you look at it... I don't know if that interpretation is canonical/official in the books or what, but if we assume that then Shelyn loses focus and becomes more like a "goddess of all things" or "loves all things"... something more generic. And why not be a devotee of Calistria? Especially if you're a furry (ಠ ‿↼)
I also don't like Bards very much; I would much prefer them as a kind of Rogue archetype: with special class abilities to represent those effects through Bardic performances but only as bonuses to Morale (for attack rolls and saves against fear), AC, and the like... a Bard not so magical, at most able to take advantage of Rogue Talents to learn certain low-level Wizard spells, but learning and using them as a Wizard. It's too much like a "Rogue but with magic" and like a Sorcerer but without being one... and there's the Magus, Witch... and on top of that, that Shaman and that Eidolon summoner... it's just too much. Those last two could have easily been just archetypes, or perhaps better as Prestige Classes, making the Prestige Class thing more interesting/attractive... there's no interest in the prestige classes that existed. I think something was published in 2012 that included the Swashbuckler as a Rogue archetype, and shortly after, they created a new independent class called also Swashbuckler that used points like the Monk or Magus. That Swashbuckler class would have worked very well as a prestige class (because the idea is precisely that of a highly specialized, trained, refined swordsman; with special training), the same would be for the Gunslinger class. In fact, now that I think about it, maybe the Wizard would work better as a Prestige Class with rank requirements of many skills, since that would reinforce the idea that to be a Wizard and/or Bard, you have to study/train by going to a wizard or bard college

questions about him?
I also really liked seeing in this refsheet that his height is 4.5 ft; that shows you used the weight and height race tables Can you tell about one of his campaigns?
