I know Evan has said she would love to introduce fully unambiguous LGBT characters into the IDW comic. I hope she does. Ian Flynn has said he's personally done with including romance in Sonic comics himself (which given how people would often accuse him of hating Sally or Amy depending on who flirted with Sonic I don't blame him) but that doesn't mean others won't.
