Character Description
A bear of a man, tall and bulky with scars on his chest, back, and arm. He was almost a blacksmith before he lost his everything and joined the army to release his rage.
Personality
Outside of battle, he is a very amiable fellow, capable of chatting with most anyone and wishing to do his best to make sure everyone is having a good time. In battle though he is focused and not one for quips and banter. He wields his shield and either a mace or hammer because he doesn't get the thrill of crushing his foes and to protect whoever is behind his shield line.
Likes/Dislikes
He likes civil people and small towns. He enjoys a hot meal and being by a sweltering furnace, and hates bitter food and demonic or chaotic monsters. If he is able to have a conversation with it, they get a chance. If not, then he bears no guilt or remorse.
Background/History
Born in a frontier town, Sergei learned that you had to assert your place in the world, to mold your surroundings to fit you. His father and mother were guardsmen of the town, watching the walls at night and the farmer's in their fields during the day. They cared for him and wanted to train him to join them, but when he made his desire to create like his grandfather in the Forge, they acquiesced, but only if he still trained with them. He grew strong and hardy, almost learning to tease magic into his creations before his village was over run by a Demonic Wave. The town was being slaughtered and Sergei was attacked by a Demon, slashing his back open and he stumbled into a burning building. A nail dug into his shoulder and scored another scar on his body and a burning beam pressed into his chest. He passed out, and his pursuer either didn't want to get burned or thought him dead, for he awoke the only survivor to a massacred village. He mended his wounds as best as he could and was found by a subjugation force and taken into the army. He took up a place in the front lines among the shield wall, and when his meager talent for magic was discovered, he was trained into being a Defender. He doesn't consider himself a mage, but as a person who can use fortifying magic and magic meant to frighten his foes, he is no mere man.

Body
Brown fur with a 6'7" 240 lbs hulk of a man, he is oft head and shoulders above those around him. His head fur is a bit more grown out compared to the rest of him and he ties it back into a knot behind him. Blue eyes and white claws. Bears three distinct scars that never quite healed over and faded away.
Clothing
Prefers full plate armor if he could afford it, he settles for half plate and chainmail. He will wear loose breeches with a simple jerkin when out of battle and around the campfire.
