Her short fangs don't match that though. Vipers have very long fangs. So long that they are usually pivoted as they otherwise wouldn't be able to close their mouth.

Yes, normally you're correct. However, Jo-Ann isn't a normal feral snake (feral animals do exist in their world). In her case, her fangs act more like vampire fangs and extend if she were to ever seriously need them or in specific cases.
This varies from character to character as even characters with similar body-types my not function the same way such as avian characters either having wings on their back, wings on their arms, or wings for arms.

Beastials, Havens (humans), Meckanas (sentient androids), and Amalgamates take up the majority of society. Fera-Beastials (what Jo-Ann is) are in the minority and feral animals are as common as they normally would and haven't been focused on yet.There are also robots/androids that are used for work though that too has been an issue in their world but that'llo come up later in the future.
