I can't tell you how many times I have had players say this in a cavern with a wall 35 feet in front of them (Fireball goes 70 feet then explodes) not realizing the consequences; or the wizard at the back of the party who blurts out "I cast a Sleep Spell!" (and gets a "backstab bonus" on casting said sleep spell on their party members in front of them, who in turn receive a -5 penalty to saving throw vs Sleep) good times hehehe
Say something stupid or Flippant and the DM starts rolling Dice, you know you are in trouble.
