Felt like doing one of these year in review things I see around, they're really quite inspiring. But I've never done one before, and the clock's about to hit 2020, so how about some hindsight? It just so happens to be about my own tenth year anniversary here too. Yup, nearly a decade here. I still remember when I was carving out my first tickly drawing to post on DA. I was sitting in the top bunk of my bed at summer camp. I was anxious, scared of what was to come, and couldn't have been more excited for it. T'was merely a pair of feet in stocks and I spent an ungodly amount of time trying to get it just perfect. Hours upon hours across days spent getting it right for posting. So much time and stress for something that seems to trivial now.
Do I feel old? Nah, not really. I feel like I've come a long way and had a blast most of the way. Also shaddap, I'm only 26. =P I've still got a lot of living to do. A lot of learning, a long way to go on this strange journey of mine. But today, here's a retrospective of the last things I posted of the last ten years.
2010: Exhibition https://www.deviantart.com/sodiepawp/art/Exhibition-191... Boy it's rough, but at the time, I was proud, and that's what I needed at the time. I am grateful for people being gentle on me back then. Too coarse, and I may have withdrawn an given up. Social anxiety and crippling depression were a major obstacle for me. Still can be, but I've come a long way in many ways.
2011: Cody Plays Chello https://www.deviantart.com/sodiepawp/art/Cody-Plays-Che... Lovingly spelled incorrectly on the chart because I forgot that I was making a pun! Way back when Dakota was still named Cody, didn't have antler stubs, nor glasses, and a fashion sense I no longer abide in. One of, if not the first unprompted gift arts made for someone I admired and learned from in my early days. He deserved better. =P Keep up the awesomesauce Chello, you've come a long way as well.
2012: Nu! Bad Kitty! https://www.deviantart.com/sodiepawp/art/Nu-Bad-Kitty-3... Back when Howl was still called Sheldon, and when I actually used him in RPs. And when I still RP'ed. =p Was getting a little more brave with muscular structure at the time.
2013: Tickle On https://www.deviantart.com/sodiepawp/art/Tickle-On-4150... This one felt like it was further down the road, but no, it was only in my fourth year. It was about the time I decided to try and take it easy on the shading, only to promptly go right back to overshading again. It was also the time I started using more desaturated tones rather than really bright vibrant ones, which I still do today. Need to draw Twilly again, Battleon was a happy part of my adolescence, that game. X3

A gifty done for ReallyReallyBigBang, whom I still consider my DA daddy cuz he was the first face I saw when I learned that DeviantArt was a thing. I think it was an old drawing of Treecko in a tickle chair that I first found. I dunno if that's what I was looking for, but that's sure what I found, and thus a star was born. And so was I! Also guest starring the chipmunk who formed the Furstreet that set me down this long road in the first place. <3
2015: A Bunny's Gift https://www.deviantart.com/sodiepawp/art/A-Bunny-s-Gift... Maaayyyyyybe the first time I really drew Dakota being cute and submissive? It seemed like a good idea at the time. Didn't keep the receipt, so suck my toes, it's what you're getting. =:3
2016: Macro Bliss https://www.deviantart.com/sodiepawp/art/Macro-Bliss-65... Not the first YCH I did, nor the last one, but the last one of 2016, and one I'm still quite chuffed with. Pity I can't really put any of these into a portfolio, cuz this one would probably go in it somewhere in the back.
2017: Spare Pillows https://www.deviantart.com/sodiepawp/art/Spare-Pillows-... I feel like the foot is positioned kinda funny, but I was going for something a little less relaxed. Unlike the atmosphere, which was supposed to be warm and cozy. I may sound like I'm complaining, but I'm quite happy with this one as the showpiece for 2018. Atmosphere is very important for me in art, I really need to push some more of that.
2019: Cheekee Paws https://www.deviantart.com/sodiepawp/art/Cheekee-Paws-8... Last but most certainly not least~ Fastest turnaround time for a fetish drawing of a new OC of mine yet. I got carried away with the atmosphere of the picture, even more so than the fetish focus themselves. Not the last thing I posted this year, but the last drawing I actually completed. And perhaps my favorite one of the year, if not the whole decade. Barring certain deeply sentimental things, this one is perhaps my favorite drawing I've made in all my time here. And the perfect bookend to this decade review. ^ω^
Alrighty, ten years in one chart, how 'bout that! I've come a long way, if I may say. Perhaps a tad haughty of me to say so, but I've worked hard for this, and conquered a lot of self-loathing over the years, I'mma take it anyway. Here's to another great decade. Second verse, better than the first! Maybe I'll even finish that comic. Maybe. Who knows! The journey has only just begun. Happy New Year, and Happy New Decade. ^ω^
