Two pics!? In the space of a week!? INCONCEIVABLE!
Here we once again have my spacey blue jay Jayson and a ship from one of the many sci-fi multiverses out there. This time: as a squadron lieutenant for the Empire of the Hand, and his trusty Cygnus Spaceworks Alpha XG Star-wing fighter; one of the fighters that COULD have been the Empire's primary one had they not omitted to the Tarkin Doctrine theory of space warfare. Basically: it's the Imperial equivalent of an X-wing. I gave Jayson's squadron lavender and white as their colors rather than standard Imperial Navy blue-grey, as well: I always like putting some extra flare into individualized versions of "production" ships. Even went so far as to design an emblem for them and gave his uniform both an Imperial Red Ace/Command stripe and some squadron color accents. The symbol as it happens is vaguely based upon a Super Nova or Quasar; so debating between "Quasar squadron" or "Nova squadron". I also gave Jayson some slightly Expanse-inspired "mag boots"; mainly just because I will forever be a fan of both that show and the look of pilots in the Star Fox games.
First variant: Background image is one of an Executor-class Star Dreadnought over a planet that I trimmed to fit the "look/aspect-ratio" I wanted. Believe it's either from the Essential Guide to Warfare or one of the more recent comics.
Second variant: this one I did basically by tracing over the old image and making it a bit more "cartoony/simplified" to match the style of the foreground elements a bit better. Couldn't decide which I wanted to upload so hey: you get both.
Third variant: this time emulating a style of pic I've seen floating about the Star Wars fan art community for a bit now. That being: taking the "ultra minimalist 3-4 color" style used in WWII-era propaganda posters and applying it to Imperial iconography, albeit using Imperial black and red as primary colors. In this case: Red-scale for the planet, blue-scale for space and the Star Destroyer, and white for stars and the sun.
