Stani sighed in relief seeing the rest of the students, faculty, and staff distracted with breaking up the argument to notice that two girls left the dance floor.

Feeling relief, and smiling triumphant, She untied the green ribbon from her hair, allowing her long brown hair to return to her usual relaxed state, she was feeling more herself despite being dressed in a forest green prom dress instead of her usual duds.

``Wow, that was something, never thought I had it in me.'' Stani explained to Maura, only to discover that the checkered giant didn't share the Fox's pride and excitement for the events that had happened.

She was unhappy and seemed to wear a hurt expression toward the red fox in a green dress, as if she wasn't impressed but disappointed in her Nordic friend's expression of strength and pride.

``How come you hit her Stani?'' Maura slowly responded to Stani, almost as if she wanted to scream, yet got the point across not with yelling and anger, but with a slow sad tone of voice with an attitude of disappointment in her voice.

Stani was taken a back, but was starting to understand the unhappy feelings expressed by her rabbit friend.

``I am very sorry Maura, I got really mad at how she treated him, and she treated me that badly too.'' She swallowed, feeling bad that she may have offended Maura.

``I guess in my anger I wanted to teach that rat a taste of her own medicine, of how mean she was.'' Stani finished, feeling deflated from any pride or triumph she may have had from moments earlier.

Maura thought back to her own feelings and then sighed about her own feelings about Eva's behavior from earlier.

Perhaps she was thinking she may have influenced Stani to respond to the rat's own violent actions. Though the checkered giant, herself, wasn't sure if she would have been brave, or foolish, to act on her feelings.

``Well, I guess she was mean and nasty, even physically hurt you as she hurt our friend we made together.'' Maura spoke her thoughts, starting to feel tired from the day's events.

``But I worry Stani; I don't want you to get in serious trouble for things, even standing up for yourself... I don't know, it, I just feel scared about what just happened.'' The rabbit confessed her inner emotions to her friend.

Stani walked to Maura, and the two hugged each other.

``It's ok Maura, it's ok to be uncomfortable about it, I will admit, I found it scary too.'' Stani soothed.

``R-really?'' Maura asked, for a moment, she thought her friend was fearless, but for a moment forgot to consider that her friend was scared too.

``Yep, it was scary; it's not easy to stand up to someone being rude or a bully.'' Stani explained to Maura, ``but I guess the fire in me didn't want her to get away with being mean to the guy she asked out, and her hitting me only strengthened my resolve to get back at someone that mean.'' She finished explaining to Maura.

The rabbit nodded, and seemed to be ok with this explanation about the thing that happened between Maura and Eva.

``I guess you are right about that, It is very bad to insult and hurt someone you ask out on a date, whether it's a guy or a girl.'' Maura expressed to the fox.

``Exactly, but a guy should never hit a girl, that is rude and disrespectful!'' Stani proclaimed in a serious tone, before relaxing herself.

``But a girl shouldn't hurt a guy either, that's also disrespectful, I guess it can be summed up that if we cannot respect each other, we cannot love each other.'' Stani finished her thoughts calmly to Maura.

In agreement the rabbit smiled in agreement. ``Absolutely true Stani.''

``I guess, next time I should take it to the parking lot?'' Stani asked Maura.

Maura thought then nodded: ``That would probably be better than inside the campus.'' She replied with a smile.

``That sounds fair.'' Stani agreed, and then looked to the side of the campus building.

``Speaking of parking lots, I think we should make sure Maddison is ok.'' Stani brought up to Maura beginning to walk to the front of the campus, hoping they hadn't missed him.

``Yes you are right!'' Maura replied with excitement, ``You must meet up with the guy and express your feelings to him in the name of love!'' Maura cheered excited in her normally cheerful shojo heroine way.

The proclamation made Stani stop in her tracks. ``What did you say?!?'' Stani responded shocked at Maura's words.

``You know Stani; you love him so you should confess your feelings!'' Maura replied in her bubbly optimistic manner; ``if you care about him enough to hit that woman whom hurt him confessing your love will be easy!''

That comment made Stani sigh unhappily.

``Maura, Maddison is just a friend for me,'' Stani complained. ``I mean, I barely know him personally, how come I would have all ready developed feelings for him?!'' The fox replied in a manner of fact tone of voice.

Stani walked away in a huff walking to the front of the campus, hoping she wasn't too late to make sure Maddison was ok.

``Fine, what ever floats your boat.'' Maura replied in a deflated sour tone of voice as she found it hard to believe that Stani didn't have feelings for the Cat that, just earlier, she stood up to the date whom treated him badly.

She didn't notice though that she wasn't feeling herself due to all the events that had happened either.

What was important now was to find Sabrina and make sure Maddison was ok.

Merry Christmas Mr Hertlem Chapter 11
Merry Christmas Mr Hertlem Chapter 13
Hello Everybody,

I think it is time to tone things down a bit, After the crazy that had just happened, Maura and Stani have a heart to heart about all that has happened, and get closer a bit.

Once again I wish to thank Melody Sif and Sugi for helping me write this, I couldn't do it without them.
