They may not tell you, or even be able to tell you. They might not even know who you are, and you might not know who they are.
But perhaps on the worst day of their life, you were kind to them, if only for the brief moments you two interacted. Or perhaps in passing, you gave some advice that ended up forever changing their life. It's even possible you were someone's crush, and they still think of you years later. Or, being an artist, perhaps someone saw a piece of artwork you made, and it spoke to them in a way they'll never forget.
The outcome is still the same, though. It may seem as if everyone around you hates you. You might even hate yourself...
