I drew the outfit from the reference I was given, in an absence of other interesting details about the character to incorporate tried to think of a pose that I had not used already in this series, and am unacquainted with Jojo.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a Shonen (young male audience) manga/anime title that's been going since the 80s. It is known for its super-power system (Stands), its often eye challenging color scheming, and its poses.

I might just have assumed those were Bob Fosse poses!  
I have seen allusions to Jojo's adventure but could not get a sense of it having any meaning, but I suppose fan material is not made to be nuanced or understood without context.

Only those championing "flamboyant masculinity". Those poses assumed in say, an elementary school class picture do not qualify.
I once read a definition of a JoJo Pose as one that looks like you might badly pull a muscle if you do it wrong.

Ah ha!  In that case I definitely simply drew an unusual pose since I was not seeking to meet any core requirements beyond that.
