Despite their wicked appearance, this species is incredibly docile. Their remarkable ability to detect different levels of heat makes them invaluable partners for fire fighters. They have an elastic band fixture on their mandibles which can be tightened, shutting the mandibles closed, so they don't breath in smoke.
