Well COPPA is one of those 1990s laws that congress passed and Clinton passed without supposedly reading it completely and put legal terms in vague terms. Some of the fault in regards to COPPA is on websites themselves, especially YouTube as they didn’t adhere to it. Though these sites have age verification things when creating accounts however, they don’t regulate themselves much to the detriment of users. Tbh COPPA does need to change to suit content creators via being being more specific. And websites like YouTube need to self regulate themselves better as public platforms or choose to be private publishers and be treated as such.
