Really it sounds more like the chubby guy from SGU........You know, im not gonna hate on big guys, cause i think he's kinda cute. But there is a logic lapse that he is still big even though the crew goes through repeated bouts of starvation, terror, running through jungles and starships and desserts...just doesn't work.

One of the funny and touching scenes in the story, I was laughing up until the the end of that part, then it gets kinda sad, then comedy again. Very good scene, very much in character for them.

Considering what I've seen Daniel Jackson doing to build bridges between their team and the various planets they've visited, included getting painted by the plant people, I could actually see something like this happening; especially if Twilight has the same desire to learn.
