Arus is a character that is hard to explain. They are a side of me I fight and hide, but also accept and embrace. When I get into my mood, feeling like crap, Arus always returns.
Often I wanted to make Arus a Maned wolf, instead of just a generic one. One of the things with them, is I am usually very loose on details when drawing them, almost cartoonish. Kind of plays on their opposite nature to what I try to be. I tend to be obsessed with details in my art, so Arus is flatter.
From the story of Sura:
Arus was born from Sura, when his attempts to return to the heavens but was too heavy with negativity and wickedness from his long travels. Sura forced those out, and Arus manifested, immediately tried to kill Sura for rejecting them.
Nearly succeeding, it was only by a chance Sura was able to counter, slicing Arus' eye, and nearly decapitating them. Sura left his wickedness behind to die, but it was sent to Hell where it was given new purpose as a Reaper.
Though both continued their own lives, numerous times they would clash to draws, until the day when Sura's destiny would come, and the two halves would have to be whole to fulfill their purpose.
(Subplot of a personal story I doubt I will ever share in full, basically saying: We all have that darkness inside us, but if we don't learn from it, and work with it, it will continue to haunt us and even try to destroy us)
