On the isle of ABCove, on the 29th of October, kids and their parents were going door to door, shouting the iconic phrase, "TRICK OR TREEEEEAT!"
Normally Halloween is celebrated on the 31st of that month. That year, however, Major Blupadding announced the village would test splitting up the holiday into two nights: a night for kids to go out and celebrate, and then a night for adults to go out and celebrate. Many caretakers approved of the idea, and it was voted to give the experiment a shot that year.
Unbeknownst to the villagers, Major Blupadding came up with the plan mainly as a request from Satoshi Grey, the little brother of his partner, Grimm. Apparently Cecil, the family's demon head butler, had never even heard of the concept of Halloween, let along Trick or Treating. As such, he wanted to make the Riolu's first time special by having it fall on his birthday, the 29th of October. (Blupadding only agreed to the plan when it was pointed out that, as adult babies, they got to celebrate the holiday twice, meaning they could get twice as many candies or other *hrm* adult beverages).
And so the night passed, and the cheers and screams of delighted children filled the isle. Diaper fairies and ghouls and other store bought creatures of the night filled the streets, gathering as much candy as they could! And while Blupadding spent the night at home preparing for a party on the 31st, Satoshi and Fan walked with Cecil, who was basically hopping with joy with how much candy he was getting! Along with them were Sully, Cecil's best friend, Finn, a boy who was slowly filling Cecil's wardrobe with new babyish outfits, and Karmen, Cecil's occasional babysitter when Satoshi and Fan were away. There was also Grimm and Wilhelm, and their big brother Noah, all three of whom tagged along to take advantage of the new loop hole in the holiday!
By 10 pm, the streets were empty, with all the trick or treaters gone home to count their loot. Cecil's group were walking down the street, they too returning to their homes. Cecil looked down at his bucket and grinned. He had never seen so much candy in his entire life! To think there was a day where adults simply gave it to you for wearing a costume! Why didn't they do that every day?!
"Now you know we'll have to look at that candy before you can have any," Madam fan spoke.
"Hm?" Cecil looked away from his candy. "Why?"
"Don't play dumb, young man! You know what we've said about your sugar rushes."
Cecil sighed. He was hoping they would have forgotten about that.
"It was just a few cookies . . ."
"You tried to mug Noah in the middle of the night," Satoshi said. "If a few cookies did that, I'd hate to see what a whole bucket of candy does."
Even though he wasn't in the conversation, Noah's spine shivered at the mention of that night.
"Fiiiiiine," Cecil pouted.
"Awwww, come on Champ! Don't be so gloom!"
Cecil's ears perked up upon hearing the familiar voice. They had reached his Master's home, and at the from door was Lore and Jasper, holding a present and a birthday cake with a '8' shaped candle atop it.
Satoshi and Fan patted the smol Riolu on the head and said in unison, "Happy Birthday, Seashell!"
He didn't know what to say! He was so excited about the night's events he completely forgot today was his birthday! He rushed over to Jasper and Lore, excited to tell them about the fun night he had, and even more excited to know he wasn't done celebrating just yet!
(This story was very last minute, so sorry that it's not very good! I didn't go all out for Cecil's birthday like I did last year, but I hope you guys like the picture regardless! Happy Halloween!)
