So, Photoshop made me quit it! I get it, its a software mainly for image editting, but goddamn nobody ever shuts up about how great it is to paint and here i was wondering what the fuck people were talking about. Oh well, not everyone can enjoy the same things.

So i was unsure about which drawing software i'd use to replace photoshop in my painting endevors, and after some hours of not knowing, i decided "fuck it, i'm getting em all". And after installing the programs, i went and made a doodle with each of them to see which i liked the best and for what reasons.

Krita  (top left): Don't let that shitty doodle fool you, Krita's REALLY good. Granted it takes some time to get used to first, but it's got some really good pre-made brushes, its interface looks good, and its lines are really hard, making it great for sketches/doodles.

Blender (top right): Yeh, you read that right! Blender, the 3D stuff! Bet you didn't even know, but Blender can draw AND animate in 2D now! And you better go check that shit out if you care about 3D. You certainly can't do that with Autodesk! Anyway, the brushes it has are REALLY good for blending as well, although it started to lag a lot as i got close to the end. It's not built for sketches unfortunately. But still, i recommend.

Medibang Paint Pro (bottom left): This one blends REALLY well. It's another user interface that takes some getting used to, but it feels REALLY good with the stylus.

Paint tool SAI (bottom middle): Hello again, old friend. I ain't got much to say on this one, since i've digitally drawn on it for some years now. It's pre-set brushes are GREAT for sketches with the hard lines, and when you start customizing your brushes (assuming you know what you're doing), it can do some powerful shit. Plus, it reads AND exports PSD files. What the heck do you need that's better than that?

FireAlpacca (bottom right): Ah yes, the little guy of the bunch. Don't let it fool you either, FireAlpacca's pre-set brushes are great for both blending AND sketching. Plus, it's got the easiest user interface of them all to get used to. It's a great starting point.

Paint tool sai is my favorite art program, sometimes you'll get tired of drawing on same program for over a years. I tried many art program you'd chosen. I like Krita, Fire, Medi bang paint but my tablet wont support with zoom in button...It's annoying to click zoom in and out on window tab. Manga studio is the best program so far, i'd test on Photoshop. Photoshop is too difficult to mess with and can be confusing. I choose Sai over than any of my art programs.
I didnt know blender can draw on. o.o
I like your review, good work.

Congratulations on Being my very first comment on this website!

Yeah, i've drawn on paint tool SAI for several years before i swapped to Photoshop for college, constantly trying to convince myself that Program was amazing to draw cuz all the pros use it. But then just recently i finished a piece on SAI, and it's better than most stuff i do.

And yes, Blender can draw too now! It's a bit tricky to get used to, since it IS a 3D tool, but you can now draw and even animate in 2D with Blender, it even has layer types and everything!
