I gotchu!
To be honest, there really isn’t a backstory to it.
I guess it’s to show although they may fight in the show, and get ‘heated’ when in Kaion’s drawings,;) - they still love each other in the end.

Let’s just say (for now) that Kiara needed some emotional support from her little brother.
