I know that you are not here
But I know that you can see me
I know there is nothing to fear
Because you watch me so freely
You had brought me love
You gave me acceptance
And now I know that you are watching me from above
And quite possibly curse my lack of patience
I miss you terribly, but I know that you are beside me
Watching over me with subtle signs
To let me know that you are there
To let me live my life the way I see fit
And I know this because you were once a part of it
I love you deeply and wish that you were next to me
But then I remember that you are still by my side
Even though I cannot see you
I thank you for the lessons that you taught
And the peace that you brought
I feel that one day you will teach me yet again
