...and during her time in self-imposed isolation, her affinity for solving undecipherable riddles, as well as her in-depth studies of the planes beyond that in which she resides, the young Tora realized there is more than meets the eye to the existence of an 'imaginary friend', an eternal companion whose loyalty is as unmeasurable as their potential.
Wielding the self-taught art of the arcane, Tora eventually met one such being. A romanticization of dragons she reads and learns about in her story and history books, as well as her inner desire to reach the status of a creature as regal as her ancestors, all personified as the element of her icy, frigid soul.
The elemental shared a nature as curious as her own, devoid of any preoccupation for destruction or long-term gain. In exchange for knowledge of the new plane of existence it had just arrived upon, the elemental made sure Tora would be cared after, supplying her with food and components for remedy whenever she required it.
Over time, a bond beyond sentimental grew between them. Inscribed in magic glyphs of the kobold's own creation thus came the elemental's name; affectionately named 'Vaeros', the word for 'life' in her draconic tongue. Relating to his continued assistance to Tora, and how he would always ensure she remained alive and well...
