chasriel pieces i did for chasriel day [6/3] earlier ^^ i experimented with doing more full backgrounds & compositions.. just a little more flare than my usual stuff
these pieces are supposed to convey the passing of time in chara and asriel's relationship. i hc that both asriel and chara were strange, friendless kids before meeting one another. asriel preferred to stay home and play with his own toys, not interested by any other monster children. i do not believe asriel has much empathy, or love for other monsters. he kept to himself despite being the beloved prince of the underground. chara i do believe is shy, and so self loathing that they are averse to opening up to others. i aslo believe they are from a difficult background, and untrusting of all humans, so they had no previous close bonds prior to falling into the underground. at first, being taken in by the dreemurrs is difficult for chara to process. i imagine they would be shut down, feeling like a burden, and unsure what to do with all the kindness given to them by asgore and toriel. eventually asriel takes interest in chara since they're nothing like the monsters he's met before. showing them his toys, and taking them around the house while they quietly follow.. they would quietly observe him as they spend time together, and become endeared by his chlildish brat quality - but also asriel's inner darkness is compelling!!
the third piece skips ahead to them having shared lockets, a point where they would be mutually obsessed after spending time together. the lockets are a phsyical representation of their bond.. their overly close, unhealthy bond. here they are both holding the lockets over one another's mouths, and swallowing them, seeing who can hold them down the longest (this idea is actually something
proposed and i became very enamored by the concept.. thank you avvy!)
the last piece here are more idle sketches of them touching. i like to think chara and asriel are very close physically once they both have matching lockets.. touching all the time is the culmination of thier relationship (before chara's assisted suicide)
Oh thanks, i'm honestly still new to makng interestng perspectives and stuff, but i am proud of how these pieces came out.. i'd like to get better n better at it I feel confdent in my headcanons though overall, thank you for the compliments!!
