Well, with something like garage band (or any loop-based program) it's more an issue of stringing together loops that sound good together, so if you have access to such a program (garage band on a mac, or dance ejay/acid music are good examples for PC) I'd say give it a try and see what you come up with. :) When financial aid hits, I'm really hoping to be able to invest in the hardware and software that will allow "actual" music creation (note by note).
