Shippo’s Hypnotic Revenge
“I can’t believe Inuyasha would just do that. All I did was put some nails in his pants just to see him dance. He didn’t have to try to stomp my head into the ground!”
Shippo is grumbling all of what he’s said to himself, as he takes a walk down a wooded path near the camp he and the aforementioned Inuyasha are staying at. The two of them had just gotten into a fight that started when the former found some rusty nails and thought it would be a good idea to see if the latter could dance from having them in his pants. This little prank, of course, didn’t bode well for the dog hanyou as he lost it tried stomping his small head in.
It got so out of hand that the young kitsune just left and took a walk. That’s why he’s on the wooded path right now.
“If only Kagome and the others were with us right now. She would’ve taken care of that jerk right now,” he then remarks.
It appears that everyone else is on business, meaning they won’t be back for a few days. That just leaves the young kitsune with the already grumpy half-demon. Just his luck.
“Ugh, if only I could just get back at him for all those times he’s messed with me! But I need to do it without him finding out or he’ll make it worse for me.”
“Maybe I can help with that,” a voice said from above him.
“Huh?” Looking up, the young fox boy notices what looks to be a tanuki smiling at him.
The tanuki, from the sound of its voice, is male and about Shippo’s age. His attire seems to consist of only a pair of dark brown sashinuki hakama. Around his neck is a pendant that has the kanji for “Dream” (夢) on the front. There’s also a small red pouch tied to the right hip.
“Hi there,” the tanuki greets in a chipper tone. “The name’s Yosuke. What’s yours?”
“O-oh, it’s Shippo,” Shippo stammers a bit. “Thanks for asking.”
“No problem,” Yosuke replies.
It was a moment later that Shippo realizes something.
“How much have you heard?” he asked.
“About everything,” the tanuki answered. “I was practicing my shapeshifting skills when I heard you walking through here and grumbling all of that stuff. Sounds to me you were having a fight with someone named Inuyasha. A friend of yours?”
“Yeah,” replied the kitsune. “But most of the time he can a bit of a jerk, and what happened just now is no better.”
Yosuke’s smile drops upon hearing that, before saying: “I figured it had something to do with that prank you pulled. Some people just can’t take a joke. Especially half-demons like that friend of yours.”
That last bit takes Shippo by surprise, rightly so since he didn’t tell the raccoon demon about Inuyasha’s status as a half-demon. So how did he know about that?
“Before you ask, I caught his scent on you,” the cheeky raccoon demon quipped. “Honestly, I don’t know what is it with half-demons and their scents being different from that of full demons. It’s kinda baffling.”
“Tell me about it,” Shippo says in response. “By the way, what did you mean by helping me?”
Yosuke, with his mischievous grin returning, jumps down off the tree and puts a paw right on the little fox boy’s shoulder. “I mean, I can help you get at the friend of yours for what he did,” he says. “After all, aren’t we fellow pranksters supposed to help each other out? We can be far superior in more than just pranking, you know.”
“I guess,” the fox boy says in an unsure tone. “So, how are you going to help me?”
“By giving you a new power that can help.”
“Really? What new power would that bed?”
“Oh you know, the ability to control others’ minds. You interested, my little foxy friend?”
‘Control others’ minds?’ thought Shippo. Curiosity turns to delight in a near instant. ‘Now that would be a perfect way to get revenge on Inuyasha. That jerk really deserves to be treated like the stupid dog he is. Oh, I can almost imagine bossing him around.’
“I’m in,” he declares.
With that said, the two little demons shake hands to seal the deal. Not long after, what feels like a surge of energy goes straight into the fox boy. This takes him by surprise, before he finds himself feeling a bit more powerful.
“What the heck was that just now?” Shippo then asks, looking at his hands before turning his gaze towards the grinning tanuki. “Yosuke, what did you do to me?”
“Gave you your new power,” Yosuke answers. “What else?”
Blinking in confusion, Shippo isn’t sure of what to say to that.
“What’s wrong, cat got your tongue?” the tanuki cheekily taunts. He then gets to explaining. “This power can be quite effective on any lower powered demons as well as weak-minded humans. Use it on them, and they’ll become your slaves in a short amount of time. Humans that have a strong will are just gonna break through it of course. Same goes with higher-ranked demons. So, try to be selective alright?”
“Right, got it,” the fox boy says. “But how am I suppose to use it on anybody I choose? Especially someone like Inuyasha?”
“It’s simple, just make physical contact with him and the rest will be taken cared of from there. Your tail is obvious to use. Or, if you want to, your feet.”
To emphasize that last sentence further, Yosuke lifts a foot and wiggles his toes teasingly.
“My feet?” the kitsune whispers to himself, before looking down at his own foxy feet. He wiggles his toes for a few seconds, all while having a curious expression on his little face.
It was when he looks up at the trees, that Shippo sees that it’s getting dark. He should probably get back to the camp right now. He’s quite eager in wanting to try out his new power on Inuyasha, judging by the twinkle in his eyes that showed up. This revenge plan is going to be great.

The trek back to camp was a lot quicker than the fox boy had expected if he were to be honest. At first, he thought he’d get lost and not find his way. But it looks like he was wrong.
When he gets back, he finds Inuyasha sleeping heavily. Must’ve been from training himself to the point of exhaustion. This is a perfect opportunity for the fox demon to test out his new power.
‘I’m so going to enjoy this,’ thought Shippo. Sneaking up right under the sleeping half-demon’s snoring head, he grins mischievously as he climbs up on his chest and places his little feet on both of his cheeks. Giggles could be heard coming out of his mouth as the young kitsune did this.
Dancing his little toes about in a teasing manner, he does it practically like the little child he is. While he also focuses on trying to overwhelming Inuyasha’s mind with his new power. Quite impressive how he multitasks like this, whenever he feels like it. The little kitsune just doesn’t have to due to the constant demon encounters and all.
He completely lost track of how many times he’s nearly been stepped on, used as a chew toy, eaten alive, torn to pieces, and so on. Why is it that something like this always happens to him wherever their group goes is something that his young mind couldn’t comprehend sometimes. To be honest, he needs a break from all of that every now and then. He really does.
Not a minute has passed by before Shippo stumbles upon Inuyasha’s memories. Going through them for a few moments, he then has an idea. He’ll just simply go and change some of them to fit his needs. This, he thinks, must also change parts of Inuyasha’s personality in the process. Which is an added bonus for the kitsune.
“Better get started,” he gleefully whispers.

A few minutes pass by before Shippo has done changing the dog hanyou’s memories that he needed. Finished, he waits for him to wake up.
Once Inuyasha does wake up, after a surprisingly long nap, he sees Shippo’s small foxy feet on his face. As part of his new slave mindset, he sticks out his tongue and licks right into them. He did all of it with the energy of an eager puppy. It would make sense a little, since he is part dog.
‘Oh yeah, this is so what I wanted,’ Shippo thought as he had his feet licked like this. It wasn’t long before they were both cleaned of the dirt and sweat that have been collected when they made camp. Both feet were covered with saliva in a near instant.
“Well that was quick,” the young kitsune quips in amusement. “For a second there, I’d thought it would’ve lasted a bit longer. But it looks like I was wrong.”
Bringing out a large piece of cloth from his pocket, he uses it to dry off his feet.
“Alright now, Inuyasha,” he continues. “Why don’t you show me your large feet for me this time?”
“Yes master,” Inuyasha drones out. Changing position, the mind-controlled half demon shows his large bare feet to his small master. His golden eyes have completely glazed over and turned dull, as a telltale sign of his new mindset. His expression is also blank, if Shippo were to look up straight into his face.
“How about rubbing those large feet all over your master’s face while you’re at it,” the little fox demon then orders. “And be sure to do it in a teasing manner. Okay?”
Inuyasha blankly nodded in response.
He then presses his feet right into his small master’s face like he’s ordered.
This goes on for a surprisingly short amount of time: a mere 45 seconds. During that time, the hypnotized half demon spreads his toes and has them dance about the kitsune’s face. After that time passes, he then takes a rest from it.
“That was fun to do,” Shippo says. Before his facial expression suddenly turns blank as he then snaps his fingers while saying, “Sleep boy” in a quiet monotone. He watches as Inuyasha closes his eyes and his head falls to the ground, going into a rather deep sleep.
A few moments after this, what sounds like rustling could be heard coming from the bushes right behind the young kitsune. But, strangely, he doesn’t turn around or panic or even shout “Who’s there?” like he normally would. Instead, he just stands there as still as a statue.
Coming out of the bushes is none other than the tanuki Yosuke. What could he possibly be doing here?
The answer to that question comes when he’s standing right next to Shippo.
"Nice job, pal," he says to the young fox demon. "You've just given me another puppet for me to play with. I knew you would agree with me that tanukis and kitsunes can be far superior in more than just pranking. Am I right?"
"Yes master," Shippo replies blankly. His eyes, like Inuyasha’s, are glazed over.
It looks like the raccoon demon, while giving Shippo his new power, have also implanted some subtle but rather strong hypnotic suggestions into the young boy's mind. Wasn't hard, considering how easily manipulative he is due to his age. Especially during that one time a Parasitic Nymph took control of him and used him as a puppet.
If it weren’t for Inuyasha, Kagome, and the others destroying that nasty bug, he would most likely still be under its control doing who-knows-what right about now.
“Good, good,” Yosuke says. After saying that, the mischievous tanuki then snaps his fingers and it’s Shippo’s turn to sleep.
Giggling like the little child that he is, he walks right in front of the kitsune’s sleeping head. He then lifts a foot, and sticks it right into his drooling mouth.
Yosuke is definitely going to enjoy playing with these two boys. He really is.
