Many years ago I visited a museum of fine arts with school, and there was someone copying an old masterpiece. Later I understand, he done it to learn how the old masters made their art. So he can paint like them.
We can use the same approach to improve or develop our own style and also our skill. Deliberate copy (not trace) some good Artwork you like or admire. Its recommended to change parts to keep your brain running and not brainless copying. Also to incorporate what's already part of your style.
On the given example, I target to improve in cell-shading, because I suck at shading, particularly in hair. But it also will help with anatomy and clothing.
