I'm getting more confused the more I think about this. From Richards perspective, keeping in mind he confused left and right, Darwin handed him the cup that he asked for, so either he corrected Darwin despite Darwin handing him his drink, or the seemingly empty cup is his "drink". Neither of which make much sense. The worst part is even saying Richard considered it from Darwins perspective doesn't fix it because of the seemingly empty cup, plus he's not that smart anyway.
