- In 1956 a mining team from Japan were mining an abandon cavern leading under the mountains came across usual fossils of giant Pteranodon skeletons. Once the miners dug to deep into the caverns they realized they were mining under a volcano. As they evacuate the mines they came across giant living insects they named Meganulons. Many lives were lost as over 40 miners fell victim the giant Meganulons and Rock sides.

- 1987 Monarch launches a field expedition with military support to investigate the caverns. Among their studies they came to a astounding discovery of a massive heartbeat within the volcano. With thermal imaging they use the technology to scan the volcano and discover a massive Pterandon resting in the volcano. With armor as hard as rock they dubbed the giant Pterandon, Rodan.
