I've heard that one of the most important parts to learning how to draw the face is learning how to draw the skull, so I've been trying to reverse-engineer a skull from various furry artwork. I've noticed that furry skulls typically have a flattened eye area, and that indicated to me that it was just a regular human skull in the eyes and cheeks. Now, humans typically have much larger foreheads but animals don't so that's also considered here (but that's also because I draw my eyes very large). The muzzle area of the skull is pure canine, whilst the back of the head is completely human in order to accomodate a human neck. In fact, it seems like this hybrid skull is mostly human with a canine snout and jaw grafted on.
