I been struggling on what to do with Ánima for a while now, it's a character of mine that I really like, but the world/universe I had created for her didn't had any future and I knew it. I had been creating lore on the fly and then stiching it togheter loosely to fit in a way that barely worked.
This time I took the time to fit her and all her kind into Isa's universe (I still have to find a name for this universe XD) and at last it's solid as a rock!
I know that not many people will read this, if anyone does at all, but I'll give here (and in the FA mirror publication) the longest of the info drop of her kind, but just enough to not spoil what I have in mind.

Canines are a nomad people that travels around the world settling down in a place for a long period of time in order to learn the culture, religion and magic of the local people. Then they add it to their own culture and move on to the next place of interest. Canines are usually very friendly and benevolent, interacting with other people in a kind way and offering their magical services to anyone who might need them (for a price of course, it's their way to survive after all).
Even if they're nomads, canines tribes of a zone, group toghether in a sort of a nation, and once every ten years they gather in a place to share they new knowledge. The group that had gather the most impressive, powerful and rich magic and culture has the chance to choose a monarch for the nation, that will reign it for the next ten years.This kind of social structures push canines to look for new knowledge with urgency, and it might drive them to resort to unwanted practices by the rest of the community, like violent behavior or evil means in order to adquire certain culture. Canines are very harsh in the punishment for this kind of deviation since it hurts their reputation as a kind and friendly people that ease their interaction with other nations. The penalties vary depending on the seriousness of the events, ranging from a ban to choose a monarch at all to the excomulgation, that implies the anihilation of the whole tribe.
Canines are the second most magical species of the world after "The Eternals", and both kinds don't like each other. The Eternals thinks that the way canines acquire magic knowledge it's easily corruptible, and it will eventually lead them to breake the balance of the world. Canines don't trust in the way that The Eternals get their magical knoledge either, but based in the fact that it's a secret really well guarded by them, and it somehow allows a person to become a extremely powerful sorcerer in just a few days, giving them the suspicion that some kind of dark deity is involved.
