Even as adults, and even as lovers, Travis and Vera still maintain a healthy sibling rivalry.
Vera is a sore loser, but also a bad winner. She loves to gloat. Sometimes her gloating can get a bit out of hand. One thing leads to another and the twins start to roughhouse, and because Travis doesn't want to hurt his sister, he goes easy on her. So now Vera has Travis pinned on the floor, waving her first-place trophy in his face, as he futilely squirms to break free. She won and she wants to make sure her twin knows it.
Originally I wanted the two of them just sitting on the couch as a sort of throwback to Gaming Kittens (a commission I got from Rinzy a long while ago). But Immy said he's kind of bored of drawing two characters play video games. So I decided to ramp up the gloating a bit to make for a more interesting scene. I think the end result is a lot better than what I first wanted. So overall it was a good idea to change it up.
Oh, if you're interested in the game they were playing, it was something like Mario Kart on a handheld that's something like the Nintendo 3DS. But it totally isn't, I swear. It's the fabled successor to the Nintony Dual-Screen, the Nintony 3Dual-Screen (the D is two Ds in one). The Kart game is Marcel Kart 8, starring the Marcel Bros. and all their friends from the Fungus Kingdom. Totally 100% original. :)
