Long story short last D&D session my character got gunned down by his mob boss father and had his fiancee and daughter kidnapped. He somehow came back in a different body as a entirely different species, formerly a mouse.
His family did get rescued though he chose to give them up for their own saftey so nothing like this will ever happen to them again. They don't know he's alive and he doesn't wanna know where the safehouse they are being kept is at. The temptation to go back on his promise would be too great. Once he can make his life safe again he may return to them. So he changed his name and lets the rest of the world outside of the his allies think he's still dead.
When we battle we get disguises summoned to our bodies, never got around to drawing his original mouse outfit. But this will be his new one from now on. Being a literal ghost of his former self now.
