I finally found some inspiration, thanks to emerald-leaves‘ oneshot fics of SAINW on Tumblr. Anatomy isn’t correct etc. since I wasn’t 100% in my artist mood, but I’m still happy I managed to draw these two! Hopefully more will come later.
Anyway, I think this would be shortly after Leonardo became blind. He ends up yelling at Raphael, accidentally slipping things what he has meant to keep to himself (about what he thinks of himself now). Of course Raphael feels bad for Leo being blind, perhaps even blames himself for it, but he doesn’t think Leonardo would be ugly. He still sees him as beautiful as ever <3
It is good that Leo is not really blind in that universe; that's an official statement. It is just an assumption because of the art of the wounds and the glasses. But just like I said it once; It is good and very important that you also draw them with disabilities. I mean can you imagine what a wonderful thing you are doing for a TMNT Fan that is sitting in a wheelchair; for example? I mean I am wearing only glasses, but when I was younger I somehow couldn't accept it. To find a character in a book or manga/anime or comic/cartoon that is wearing glasses and important was like a balsam to my wounded soul. I once saw a picture where Raphael is waring glasses and complain about how all people think that only Donnie is reading books while he also enjoy it. XD It one of my most beloved pictures, like ever. Gosh, I will never stop loving your art. And that little story is so magnificently touching. Ralph is so understanding and supportive and he just loves Leo so much! Beautiful!

Is it really official statement? This is the first time I hear about it. But I personally think Leo's blind. For example when Don hit him and Raph to the ground Leo didn't took Don's hand when he offered it. Instead Don, after a moment, took a hold on Leo's hand, pulling him on his feet. Thank you! I do like them with disabilities since, while being mutants and all, I believe they still can get injuries etc. like we humans do and which can make us have disabilities. I really love the idea behind that what you said, but I don't know is there such TMNT fans following me. After all I'm not a big or famous name / person in TMNT fandom. But I really like it that people can relate, one way or another, more or less, with fictional or real characters, they becoming their strong supports. For example fictional characters always have been great support for me while I had no one else to support me. Aaaahh, that art! I have seen it few times and I LOVE IT! It's totally one of the best Raphael arts ever! <3

I think you can find that statement on Turtlepedia. But I can't remember witch article it was and there are many. However their said that the artist was very surprised, because he never said Leo was blind, neither in the cartoon or the real life. He didn't say directly that he is or isn't blind, but because he was surprised that others think so, you can tell he isn't. Because he didn't wanted to answer directly after that, it seems he left the decision to the fans. So every answer is the right one. :) I think you are more famous than you think. The most people just don't write comments. I have the same problem. On the German platform FanFiktion.de you can see how many clicks your story got. Judging by the amount of the clicks, I know that the four persons that are always commenting that one TMNT fanfiction can't be the only one reading. Seriously, my Beyblade Readers are more lively and likely to comment. Or my Beyblade story's are better than my TMNT story's, heh.

Aaah, too much trouble to go look for it xD And since you told me the artist himself has not stated, ever, is Leo blind or not, leaving it all up to fans, is good thing! Because there are fans who can think Leo's not blind and fans who can think he is :) I personally think he is blind <3 And sometimes it happens that characters themselves just won't give the answer (it could be Leo himself didn't give the artist the answer about his disability. For example now that I work with Butler I've been thinking about Leo's blindness, trying to figure out ways if I could help him to see again. He says nothing. I asked him would he like to see again or not, but he doesn't give me any reply :'D I think he doesn't know or that he's good with anything. Hard to say!)
Thank you <3 It just I don't get much notes, comments, likes etc. to my works. I see others drawing something simple but good anatomy and they get hundreds of likes, comments etc. I draw something and I get few comments with a luck, few likes and even few less comments. That's why I don't think I'm all that famous :'D And other good example was that there's going to be Rise fanbook and the maker of it posted on Tumblr asking people to reblog the post and tag who's arts they would like to see in the book. Naturally most best skilled and well known artists were mentioned, but not me. Not even once so it too was a sign too.

Well, all I can assure you of is that of my loyalty. Of course I also like other works and so, but I like all of them for different reasons. The reason why I love your art is because of all the emotions, the background story you give them and the courage of giving them disabilitys, making them in turn give us courage to go on. I am aware of the extreme talented Baraturts or the others, but their lack the warmth you create in your art. I mean that fluffy warmth, that makes your heart melt. For me, only you can do that. ;)

That's okay! I like many artists and few writers myself wit different reasons. For example I really love the way how Baraturts draws and colors. She has so serious talents and it makes it all look so easy! :D Awhh, thank you so very much <3 <3 <3 As long as I've been drawing, my mind always has created a background story. If I don't have background story before I start to draw, then I get it during drawing. Characters won't allow me to do them without some background story xD Emotions I add in my arts because, while I know it makes other people like my works, it's also very therapeutic to myself. I can channel my emotions in my works which helps me greatly. If I don't do this, I feel I'm going nuts. And I like to play with the ideas of boys having disabilities :D

I know what you mean; a background story is very important. All of my Stories have them, even if the background story itself never will be published. But that's why the actual story itself is better written then. And if someone asks I can give a good answer. XD
