Shortly before, and now especially after their reveal for Smash Bros. these two have really been on my mind, because of this though I have been made acutely aware of something. The fact that Banjo's design is essentially just Donkey Kong, but as a bear. Maybe you can't see it, maybe it's just me but I knew I always felt something was off about Banjo's look and I think that's what it is. However, now that I have seen it I cannot unsee it! So much so that I wanted to draw up a design that was more bear and less DK. He only needs a few alterations, but I like the result. I know this won't really be well received, especially in dealing with well beloved icons of nostalgia, but hey if someone else likes it, I figure my job is complete! For the record, it felt really weird drawing something from Banjo-Kazooie that wasn't Gruntilda... I'll probably change that soon!
