SO here is a long story for this drawing. this is what happens when i try to put effort into things XD let me know if you like it!

I and the two crewmates hung onto the broken raft. we had been floating for a day now when we saw the small island. we had been on a ship headed to the new world when a pirate gang intercepted us and destroyed our ship. we pulled away from the broken raft and fell onto the sandy beach. it felt so nice to be on land again. how I hated the ocean.

"get up boy, we have to make some shelter.” the older fat man kicked some sand at me as I reluctantly and weakly stood up.

"Alright captain what do you propose we do?" I spoke meekly to him.

“you're going to scour the beach and search for rope and wood while I and Smith search for food and water. Got it?” he scowled and shoved his finger into my chest.

I nodded quickly and began searching the beach. I managed to pick up and bring back several piles of wood. I had noticed that both of them were sitting in the shade pointing and talking to each other. Every trip took me farther up the beach until I grew exhausted. I sat down on a boulder in the water looking out into the ocean.

“goddess why me? Why my boat. I haven't a clue what you have planned for me but I’m not sure I’m going to like it if it involves those two. If only the ocean had taken me like all the others.” I skipped a rock across the surface of the water.  I saw what looked like a large fish or shark dart away in the shallows Mere feet from me. I jumped away off of the rock in fear and fell backward hitting my head hard and fell unconscious.

I awoke to the feeling of a hard kick to my side. I groaned loudly and curled up as I heard the captains voice. “wake up ya piece of shit. It's almost dark and there isn't a fire going!”

I coughed heavily as I tried to sit up. “Sorry, sir I fell and hit my head. I don’t know how to make fire either.”

I felt another kick that sent me falling back over and made my eyes water. The captain started to scream at me. “well ye ain’t gonna learn laying in the sand. Get back to the camp and start working on it.”

I felt sand kick against my face as he walked away. I stood up holding my bruised stomach when I caught a glint in the water. As I went to look I saw a dark shadow quickly move under the water and a shiver went down my spine. I tried to ignore it as I slowly walked back to camp. I spent the next hour well into dark trying to make a fire with the wood and sticks I had gathered. the captain and crew mate drank a  bottle of whiskey they had found. Once the sun set the moonlight was the only thing keeping the area lit.

I heard the drunk men stand up and start shouting profanities towards me and my heart sank. I was already kneeling by the wood and tried harder to get an ember with the stick I was turning. They drew close and I covered my head as he slammed the glass bottle down on top of me. the other kicked me over. They laughed loudly and started to kick me over and over again. I scream and cried on the ground.

They finally stopped and the crew member grabbed me by my hair and pulled my head up to his. His breath stank of alcohol. “now that should teach ya to be a worthless shit now shouldn't it.” he roughly let me go and they walked away to there comfy spot. I stood up holding my bruised ribs and stomach and wiped the blood from my mouth. They went to sleep under the trees and I decided to lay under the stars on the beach. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

I woke up before them and had time to think. If we were going to be stuck on this island together maybe I could make them my friends. I grabbed some salvage and made a spear out of a stick and broken shards of metal. I went into the ocean shallows and tried my best to catch some fish. After some practice and using what little I knew of water refraction. I managed to catch some sort of large green fish the size of my forearm. I was so excited, I took it up onto land and put it by the spot I was trying to make a fire at before.

After an hour longer, I had managed to make a fire and let it burn to coals to cook the fish. I heard the two hungover men groan as they woke up to the smell of burning fish. I waved gently at them hoping we could leave the night behind us. How wrong I was. The crewmate came storming over and started to scream at me again. This time I stood up to avoid any low blows.

“ye cooking food fer yourself there! How dare ye lie about the fire and try to sneak it while we sleep!” he shoved me hard making me move a few steps back.

“I wasn’t lying! I figured it out! I was cooking it for all. I wanted to try and get us to work together.” I shouted back. This only made the captain buff his chest up and grab me by the arm.

“you can’t yell at us like that boy! We ain’t here to be your friend!” he tripped me and aimed my body into the still burning coals.

I scream out in agony as I rolled off the coals. My back was badly burned. The crewmate took the chance to jump on my back and grab a handful of sand rubbing it vigorously into the burns. I kicked my legs and rolled him off of me. He laughed loudly and the captain gave me a good kick in the head knocking me unconscious.

When I awoke I immediately wished I hadn't. I found myself hog-tied under a tree near the water's edge and stripped naked. They were preparing a bonfire and chatting with each other. I wiggled and looked around my heart was racing and I just wanted to run.

I saw the captain look over towards me and laugh. “oh ya think you can get away with eating food without us? Don’t worry we will show you what it's like to be the one not eating.” he had a sickening grin on his face as he threw more wood on the fire.

“I was going to share it! What are you two going to do to me? Let me go! Please!” my eyes widened more as my heart raced faster. the crew mate walked over and looked down at me.

He leaned down looking me in the eyes. “you have been a thorn in my side since you got on that ship. Too weak to help to smart to be told what to do. So we are solving that now. We are going to put you on the coals and wait till you stop screaming. Then we will eat you while waiting for a ship to show up and no one will ever know.”

My eyes widened at his words and I stayed silent. He laughed and walked away to help the captain. I really wish the sea had just taken me. I began to sob as I realized I was going to burn alive. I noticed the fire was starting to burn down and the two had found another bottle of alcohol to down. I struggled the best I could to loosen the ropes but what hope did I have with two sailors tying me up. That was until I felt a sharp piece of metal next to me. A piece of the wreck under the foliage. I looked up at them as I wiggled to grab it. I noticed a familiar shadow in the water and saw two glowing eyes bobbing in the distance. My mind didn’t care anymore as I was busy trying to cut myself free.

After a long struggle, I finally felt the cord come undone. I was free. Then they turned and smiled. “alright we are ready for ya big boy. Just gotta grab some seasonings.” they laughed and I saw the crew mate go to a nearby tree. They had found a washed up spice crate. I started to cry more as the captain walked drunkenly towards me. He stopped and turned his gaze to the ocean when he heard a feminine voice had called out.

“help me! Please help!” I saw an orange boat floating in the water and what looked like a woman bobbing up and down by it.

The captain and crew mate drunkenly ran toward the water edge. While they were distracted I stood up and ran down the beach. I took a turn following along a rock cliff. I stopped when I ran out of beach and cursed loudly. I sat near the rock cliff and buried my face into my naked legs and began to cry.

I looked out into the ocean and spoke softly. “goddess, thank you for putting that metal there. They wanted to eat me. They weren't even joking! Oh, goddess why have you brought me here.” I sighed heavily before I had a realization. “that woman. Oh, goddess that woman!” I stood up quickly and grabbed my head. “who knows what they will do to her! I have to save her.”

I stopped as I noticed those two glowing beads in the water from earlier. I looked at them and noticed they were only feet away. I saw a terrifying creature lift out of the water. It was very much woman in form. It had long black hair and smooth curves.  it was anything but a woman. Its skin was solid bone with scales on her arms and her eyes had no iris. only reflective plates of white and a black pupil stared back. Her tan bony skin shimmered in the water as she drew closer. She was a siren. I knew them from myths but I always thought they would be a beautiful woman. Not whatever this fish bone creature was. She opened her grotesque bony mouth. Her face was a mesh of overlapping plates of bone, But her voice was that of a beautiful maiden.

“do not run! I was the woman in the water, do not go back there.” she propped herself up in the water. Her eel-like tail swishing in the dark.

“your a siren aren’t you.” I sighed and sat on the rock as I rubbed my head. “are you going to try to eat me too? I guess at least you won't to cook me alive.”

She giggled cutely “why yes I am a siren, and I have eaten plenty of men in my days here. I saw what they did to you. While I enjoy eating your kind I wouldn't think to subject them to such torture. I find drowning to be a much more elegant way of taking their life. It would just be easier to forget it and come in here.”

“I’m not going in the water with you.” I covered my ears and stood up. “I have cannibals on land to deal with right now.”

I heard her shout from the water as I started to walk away. “I took care of them, such easy prey. they will keep me fed for a while. You know you would be better off in the water. Boats don’t make it here. This island is cursed. boats only sink and I get to pick off the ones that make it. Sorry, it's just how it goes here.”

I started to hum and walk faster. She swam along the waters edge pouting with her bony face. “I saw how you started that fire. You think you will make it here? The fish will stop coming and the trees will die. I have seen it before. Men can’t live here the gods don’t want you to live. just join me. I'll make it quick.”

She gave up after I stopped responding and I walked back to camp. The two men where gone. all that was left was a blood stain in the ocean near the floating boat. I saw her swim around it and watch me from it. I looked at the hot coals on which I was going to be cooked.

I kicked sand at it and shouted at the sky. “why goddess! Why have you stranded me here!” I sighed heavily and fell to my knees by the fire. I heard thunder in the distance and looked over to see a storm over the sea. “great.”

I spent the next few hours building a leaning shelter with fallen trees and scrap wood. I used any ropes I could find and made bedding with tree fronds. I heard the sirens song from the ocean. Lucky for me it seemed it was only a myth that her song would draw me in. just like her looks. I laid in the hut and sighed heavily. I could still hear her singing. I listened to her words. She was singing about starving and the sweet release of the ocean.

I covered my ears and groaned. I heard the storm start to hit as the winds kicked up. Lightning and hail struck around me. The wind began to howl as the trees shook. My tiny shelter didn’t stand a chance and blew away exposing me to the sideways rain.

I stood up and scream into the storm as I shivered. “really! Just really!”

I heard the siren's voice call out with a teasing tone. “weather is fine in the water.”

“go away!” I shouted back picking up a rock and throwing it towards the water.

I waited, shivering under a tree for the storm to end. which wasn’t until the morning. I groaned as I half awake stood up and embraced the sunlight shining through the clouds. I looked at the jungle and realized almost all the trees had been knocked down. The island was much smaller then I had thought. most of the logs were just gone with no signs of them being even washed away.

“it will just get worse you know.” I heard her soft voice and looked over. She was sitting on the beach “everyone that ends up here eventually goes in the water or dies on land. I would be gentle you know. I wouldn't make you suffer.

I sat down still naked near the beach she was on. I stayed far from her. “why, why me. I was always a devote follower of Harash. How could she have forsaken me to such a hell? And you. Why don’t you look like, you know? A normal siren.”

“you mean why am I so ugly? That is a bit rude. Is that why you won't join me?” she spoke koi as she tilted her head with a crunching noise.

“I didn’t say you were ugly. I just thought sirens looked like human girls. You just look like some majestic set of rocky bones.” I laid down in the sand. I was starving and thirsty.

I felt the suns heat start to get hotter above me and heard her splash into the water. “I’m an ancient siren. I don’t have the fancy things modern sirens do. Your goddess Harash made me to reap the souls damned here. Usually, I am a lot more violent and tear them apart. you are the first one I feel like doesn't deserve that. you must have done something to get here.”

I sat up and noticed she was gone. I didn’t want to risk going into the water for fish so I made my way onto the island. I quickly scooped water from a leaf. It tasted so fresh. I downed as much as I could. I wasn’t going to give up.

After eating a modest amount of coconut I laid under a still standing tree. I think they burned my clothes or they washed away. I couldn’t find anything to wear. I was burning from the hot humid air regardless. I tried to avoid the ocean as much as I could. Days of only having coconuts had its toll on my stomach and I became sick. She was also right about the plants. They seemed to be dying off at a fast rate. the trees to harvest coconuts from stopped growing and the leaves wilted.

I walked to the water's edge. my frame thinner and held my spear. I saw no fish no matter how far I walked. I was doomed. I couldn’t make it much longer without water and without food I would starve anyways.

I sat by the water and called out weakly. “you win, you were right. This island is cursed.”

I saw her head bob out of the water and swim up to me. “I tried to tell you. Your suffering was your own doing. Tell me, why do you think Harash brought you here?”

Her eyes glowed in the water as I looked down and sighed. I paused for a moment before speaking. “I killed someone. I thought they were going to attack me and I shot them In an alley. It was an Innocent old man and he died instantly. I fled and no one found out. I’m no better than the other two.”

“why did you think he was attacking you?” she smiled sweetly as she drew closer to the beach. I knew she was getting ready to grab me but I didn’t care anymore. “he grabbed my arm and shouted at me. I didn’t realize he was trying to tell me I was in his way. Till after I shot him.

I looked up at her and she was in arms reach of me. her mouth showing all her razor-sharp teeth. I looked at her and nodded. “go ahead. Rip me apart. Eat me. I don’t care anymore.”

I felt her wet slimy yet rough hands grab my arms gently. “so you didn't kill him in cold blood? You made a mistake. It Sounds like you might deserve a second chance. I mean I have been thinking about it. if you're sure you aren't lying. Cause I will know as soon as you get in the water. I will make it so much worse if you are.”

“I’m not lying. I even fled the country to escape the guilt. Let's just get it over with.”I stood up and looked at her as she pulled her arms away.

She looked a bit surprised as I walked into the water until it was up to my chest. A tear hidden by the water streamed down my face. I shivered and thought about rushing out. My adrenaline began to race through me. She wrapped her arms around me and looked me in the eyes. She quickly yanked me into the water and squirmed and tried to break free for a moment. she held me tight in her grips as she looked me in the eyes. I held my breath as she smiled sweetly at me.
