Tried to match the colors of the teaser image with the painting and it turned out better than expected. Matching the colors was one thing but matching the style and detail was a whole nother story. It's much more crisp, neat, and refined while my painting is barely consistent. This painting is in two parts, the painting itself and the original teaser art.

I really want to know what Sonic will look like now since they are in the process of fixing their mistake. That's why I painted this, mostly to see what he might look like given the design of his arm. The other reason is to practice more painted pieces.

Seeing the trailers for the movie, more floofy Sonic art was exactly what I was hoping for. Well, porn more specifically. hehe

I believe they had this design in reserve when they released the first trailer. Now that they know what the fans want they’ll go through all the current scenes that the bad rendition was in and replace it. Then finishing shooting all the scenes they haven’t done yet with the same design.

This is a good live action design, he doesn't look overly anthro like Rocket but the limbs don't look like unnaturally thin sticks that don't work outside of cartoons.

I hope they do better with the redesign. Give Sonic back his iconic shoes, gloves, and socks. Make him a little chubbier (my Mom's main complaint was that the Sonic in the trailer was too thin) and have bigger eyes.
