Well... kimba was first before lion king, I figure pretty much everything is a knock off somewhere. Heck the show later is mostly about soccer, so eh... it's certainly it's own thing, with I agree a lot of likely outside influence. Winner and the golden child is nothing at all like lion king though, it's way different. Still regardless of where the inspirations came from, I still really love Light ^^ Her personality is so cute!
I tend more often then not, to ignore the show and only look at the characters and make my own situations for them. Since there are quite a few wonderful gems kinda buried in shows that aren't very good.
