My main female protagonist, Nahia, has four distinct incarnations; originally, she was a demimortal heathen spirit, like a nymph or a dryad, bound to the fast-flowing woodland streams in the Great Forest of her homeworld. Bound in her bones in 1072AD by religious crusaders, she began a series of mortal incarnations which would lead her on a range of adventures, seeking a reversal of her binding ritual.
This here is Kattalin. Born in 1961, she’s a precocious, feisty little nerd; in 1981 she saw Indiana Jones in the cinema, and was so inspired by Marion Ravenwood that she enrolled to study archaeology. And here she is, in the library, givin’ you Bette Davis Eyes.
