Have seen the Backbone game that is being made currently and as such this was inspired by that.

It is set in a broken Vancouver, which has all kinds of issues with the area, plants overgrowing things, society having fallen apart and actual anthropomorphic creatures there. That got me thinking... how did it end up that way?

Then, I eventually worked out the answer.

First, let us look at what Vancouver is like right now, or even, what Canada is like right now. Canada is rather far left... to the point of putting in place some pretty extreme laws that take away the rights of people just to ensure the far left views continue. Including the fact that kids can get taken from their parents, if the parents don't accept the gender that the kids decide to/believe themselves to be.

As a result, if you take one more step in that direction, if it doesn't stop at gender, but moves onto WHAT you believe yourself to be as well. Then I could quiet easily see the concept of morals thrown out the window regarding human genetic manipulation, to allow people to be what they want to/believe themselves to be.

I mean, if someone makes the argument that there is less genetic difference between a male human and a male chimpanzee, than a male human and a female human, then you might be able to start down that path. Furthermore, if gender is purely a social construct, then you could make the argument that species is as well.

Now that we are up to that step, the far left views of Canada continue, to the point where kids can be taken from their parents if the parents don't accept what kind of animal the kids are, and then once they are taken the government will supply the means to convert the kids to BE what they want to be. Ok, furries created.

Now that furries are created, most of the furries across the globe will flock to Canada to receive genetic treatment themselves, putting a HUGE strain on the socialist medicine network over there with the massive influx of furry migrants who are coming across for medical reasons.

Due to this massive influx and the laws that have been passed, the socialist system can expand significantly, providing for everyone the treatments that they need to be able to feel correct and function correctly.

Once this happens, the taxes would increase exponentially for all of the businesses in Canada to try and keep the funds up for the medical system, which in turn would force all of the good businesses to leave the country and then the taxes to go as well, causing a rather swift loss of maintenance of roads/public services etc... I mean, it doesn't take too long for a fully socialist system to completely ruin a society... just look to the history of every time that it is attempted.

Now that society is starting to collapse there will likely be gangs forming to protect themselves/what is theirs. There might even be rape gangs. Then it would be a matter of, perpetrator or victim, whoever runs to the police first and then declares that they are female will be listened to and believed, many of the prominent folks who still exist might well get #MeToo'ed and put in jail due to accusations that were designed to extort money/power/influence if the legal system continues to move into a more extreme left manner. That the word of a female must be believed and taken as fact/social ostracisation for those who have accusations brought against them.

With this, it is a small hop, skip and jump across to the world that Backbone is set in.

But, the final thing that everyone would have to remember would be the years and years of government schooling. This would mean that pretty much everyone would see "socialism" as good, and "capitalism" as the blame of everything. So when someone says "capitalism" did it, that is just a way of saying that the socialist system was unable to support people and they are trying to blame something not actually at fault.

Finally we even have the "great apes" that Backbone has as part of the setting. This pretty clearly seems to be in reference to Animal Farm, that "everyone is equal but some animals are more equal than others", as always happens during the attempt of a communist/socialist government taking/having power.
