I don't think he's going to kill her though. If I had to guess he's got some deep seeded need for control, he knows he's losing his grip and he sees her as a direct threat to whatever co trolls he has. Clearly he has no control over his own personal life so without her he has nothing and that's a scary thing to come to terms with.
