Knowing that Sega will NEVER allow this because “Characters has to be happy 24/7, never show any other emotion, character growth or moment of doubt”, this is a very nice change of concept. Not everyone stays optimistic and there are times when we don’t feel like anything we’re doing is making a difference which in this case, Robotnik keeps coming back doing his thing and nothing has changed. Him feeling down because all of his time fighting makes little to no impact on everything/everyone else makes sense for his heroic character, bringing them to their lowest point and interestingly enough, show them how they can combat their era of depression and hopelessness. Nice work on this.
