Yes; another spaceship design pic; though also a cameo from my resident spacey-birb. Here I did a redesign/refit of the ARC-172 for the Imperial Remnant faction "The Empire of the Hand", aka; Thrawn's empire. Not entirely happy with how that canopy came out, possibly because I wasn't quite doing my anal-retentive "make sure every axis lines up" thing... mainly because to get all the views I wanted, I had to use a couple different sources for the ARC-170. Also tweaked the Imperial pilot's uniform just a bit; giving Jayson an officer's stripe; most renditions of the design don't have that sort of a thing but I think it broke up the black nicely. Also included some washed out Imperial propaganda posters for the background to liven it up a little: I quite love that aesthetic of the "World war II-style" 3 color posters but done in Imperial black, red and white. Also gave Jayson a little droid buddy; R7 unit but needs a second number set for his name.

Incom-Nirauan ARC-172 “Void-Raptor” Heavy Assault Starfighter
Due in large part to his relative isolation and semi-covert mission within the Unknown Regions of the Galaxy, Grand Admiral Thrawn’s campaigns were often forced to go without the largest and most prestigious paragons of Imperial Naval technology; with Imperial High Command often preferring to keep Executor, Bellator, and Sovereign-class vessels and other massive starships where their presence could inspire awe and fear in Imperial subjects and immediate enemies. It was however relatively easy for Thrawn’s task force to requisition the older Venator-class Star Destroyers and their compliments of older fighters; most of which seen service in the Imperial Navy as border control and patrol vessels at the far reaches of Imperial space. The ARC-172 Void-Raptor came about as a result of the Nirauan advanced starship development Bureau’s desire to modernize the by then somewhat aged compliment of ARC-170 Aggressive Reconnaissance fighters arrived with these older capital ship acquisitions.
The initial attempt to modernize the 170 came in the form of the ARC-171; a project which aimed to retain as many of the ships original components as possible in order to reduce costs; this however proved difficult approaching impractical, given the lack of access to compatible components, due to a combination of age, isolation, and the fact that the Incom corporation had ceased to do business with the Empire or her affiliated powers. Thus; the ARC-171 project was abandoned, and the ARC-172 project took its place, using the polar opposite approach. Each ARC-170 was painstakingly disassembled; stripped to their aero-frames, with each part catalogued and classified based upon what could be readily sourced, what needed to be replaced, and what could be removed, improved or streamlined. Those parts which needed to be upgraded or replaced were sourced from a combination of Imperial and Chiss Ascendancy suppliers; including Seinar Fleet Systems, and Cygnus Spaceworks, with the end result being a nearly brand new and lethal hybrid starfighter.
The most immediately evident external alteration from her predecessor is the removal of the ARC-170’s 3 individual cockpit modules, in favor of a single two-seat cockpit canopy. Not only did advances in avionics and power regulation allow for the removal of one of the original 3 crew, but this change had a two-fold benefit: in that the new cockpit is more comfortable to non-clone personnel who must now fly the ship, and because the loss of an entire third of the flight crew significantly improved the ARC-172’s already improved engine output to mass ratio. Combined with her improved reactor, the ARC-172 is in fact faster, and more agile than her predecessor, despite not only retaining, but increasing her onboard firepower.
The ARC-172 retains its predecessor’s role as a heavy assault starfighter; as capable of engaging capital ship targets as it is other starfighters. Its primary weapons, located at the tips of her wings consist of two high-yield Seinar Fleet Systems Lm-A-3 Medium laser cannons, proportionally extremely powerful weapons which necessitate the use of heat radiating S-foils in the ships wings. Unlike its predecessor; the 172 also includes a pair of SFS Ls-7-2 light laser cannons like those employed by the TIE Advanced, and Chiss Nssis-class fighters; these are designed to gimbal slightly, compensating for the heavy fighter’s larger mass in comparison to dedicated interceptors, and designed to converge their fire on a single target to maximize effectiveness. The ARC-172 also retains another feature from its predecessor designed to protect the heavy fighter from attacks from its aft fire arc; an SFS Lt-7-4 Tandem-mount point-defense laser cannon turret; this weapon is able to be controlled either by the ships Co-pilot/ECO, or the onboard astromech droid if one is available. The ARC-172 also retains the capability to carry and fire proton torpedoes via a dedicated launch tube in her prow, though expands the ships magazine from six to ten thanks to internal space saved during its refit.
