The first in what I hope to be a series of blurbs to offer some exposition and lore into my Funderland canon. cX Not all will be tickly/footy in nature, but expect some of that anyway. Because it's me we're dealing with here. :3
"In lotsa families, game night or movie night or what have you is a common enough tradition. Or a night to go out to dinner, or an evening devotion, or group therapy, such and such. But in Funderland, another tradition is quite common in the culture. You see, tickling is a major part of Funderful social culture. It has many meanings and contexts. It's not merely childsplay or fetish play as in much of the world. It can be, sure, but it's not so limited here. To tickle someone can be like a hug or a kiss, affection and trust. To tickle someone is to say you like them, and to let someone tickle you is to say you trust them. (Except when punishment is the idea, then the context can change everything. Like a spanking from your lover vs. a spanking from a parent. Context is key. But that's for another entry.) Amongst lovers, it can be a very major part of foreplay. Amongst children, fun and roughhousing, it's more rare not to see kids engaging in tickle play. These are not too unique to Funderland, of course, but what is unique is the titular tradition of family tickle time. It's a common social behavior for Funderlander families to have, where the whole family takes turns tickling each other and getting tickled. Sometimes with bondage, sometimes not, that just depends on the family really. And generally no one has to get tickled if they don't want to, except sometimes the parents. They gotta set the example of course.
Sometimes they'll set a timer for each family member. Sometimes they'll just go until they say stop. Sometimes there's a game involved, like trivia or a dice roll. Families can get as creative with it as they want. Some families try it and set it aside at some point, some make a Saturday night thing of it, like what me and my mom did. Some families even go the extra mile and have entire rooms set aside for family activities, though those usually are for various things aside from just tickling. We had a rather nice set of portable stocks when I was wee. They just strapped to the bed quite easily, and came off just as easily. But they stayed on super well during.
Pictured above is a local rabbit family engaging in family tickle time, with the dad taking his turn. Must be wild with a big family! Most I ever had at one time was mom and two of my friends. I have neither siblings nor a father, though, but it suited me just fine. I always preferred smaller parties to big ones. Speaking of parties, family gatherings were always a spectacle if tickle time was involved. Dinner, movies, bingo, and someone getting some attention in the stocks at all times. I only went to such an event twice, though never got tickled in stocks myself at either of them. My extended family is quite spread out, so major family gatherings were a rarity. When it was just me, my cousins, uncles, aunts, grandies and the like, the stocks usually stayed in the closet for some reason. Never really knew why, I guess it didn't seem necessary since the smaller gatherings with the local family were relatively short and common. Still are actually. Guess they didn't feel the need, or something? I couldn't say, I never asked. I always knew that I could wind up modelling my feet if I asked, and groups just make me uneasy, as much as I love my family, don't get me wrong. Could also be that family tickle time was always kind of a holiday thing for them, since their family was pretty big. Several siblings and happily married parents. Just me and mom at our house though. Though she'll sometimes offer to let me invite a friend or two over. And sometimes I'll accept. Now that I think back on it, she did become quite adamant on having a tickle night on Saturdays after dad left. He never was too keen on it himself, being a foreigner and all. I wonder if that was because he wasn't part of the equation anymore, or because I was the last of her household? Ah, I'm rambling now.
To summarize, tickling is a major keystone in Funderland social culture. It is a context sensitive activity that can go from family bonding to public punishment. And in this context, that of Family Tickle Time, it is bonding by far. A common tradition among the more close-knit families of the land, and one I held quite dear myself growing up. Momma's Day is just around the corner, maybe I should offer to re-upholster her stocks as a gift..."

So, this is an older drawing. Like maybe two years by now. I never uploaded it because I wanted to make an entire four-part series of it, of all the family taking their turn tied and tickled. But I only ever did the daddy. XP I put off posting it because I wanted to finish it eventually, but by the time I even felt it in me, my style had changed up enough and I just didn't wanna redo it. So, I figured I'd make a lore post out of it finally. I hadn't intended for this one to be the first, but it's the only one I got so far of Funderland Culture. More to come hopefully, I do love world building. cX
