First I must apologize for my lack of updates. My comic has not been updated for months. But this doesn't mean I haven't been making it. I'm still working on the Bar Book, I have 60 pages done so far, but the process is very slow because I have my work and other crappy real life stuff.

So here I'm posting another little sneak peek of the book.
And what better "peek" the pig go to the restroom?

It's odd.... Your comics remind me of the magazines " Heavy Metal "  I read when I was young ....

It's not that odd. It's one of my main inspirations. I was also into European comics in the 80s.
You can see a lot of Moebius influence in my stuff, of course, I don't have a fraction of the talent he had, but I try to get that general feeling in my art.

I remember that the 1970s were a very strange period for the Franco-Belgian comics strips...
In the 1950s and 60s, French comics were under state surveillance, and publishers could not publish everything they wanted. Comics too violent or erotic were prohibited.... But things changed after 1968, so a magazine like " Métal Hurlant " ( " Heavy Metal ")  was able to exist.
Things became very free in the 1970s and 1980s. But today, I have the impression that we are falling back into a more repressive period....

Art trends, like everything else, go through cycles, some times for better and some time for worse. Personally, I think the 70s and 80s were one of the better eras for comics and for human culture in general (movies and music were great too) Magazines like Mad and Heavy Metal were at their peak back then. Now they are pale shadows of their former glory. Humor, in particular, seems to have fallen into a cycle of mediocrity across all forms of art (but that may be just my personal impression)

Some times cultural repression has strange effects on art.

For example, Spanish comics during the Franco era was very strictly censured. Any sexual content was banned and speech, in general, was limited. I knew some Spanish cartoonists who worked during that era and invented all kind of creative ways to go under the censor's radar and put risky content into their comics. So in some way, the repression forced the artist to be more creative.

After the end of the Franco regime, there was a reverse cultural phenomenon where censure ended and you could publish practically anything you wanted. This was, of course, a good thing, but it didn't exactly result in an improvement of comics. The end of so many years of restriction had a pendulum effect and now gratuitous sex and vulgarity oversaturated Spanish comics.

I love adult topics in comics when they are well done, but it looked like comic creators were more concentrated in putting as much sex and depravity as possible in their comics than telling an interesting story. Magazines were filled with mediocre comics that had cocks and tits in every panel but not much else to see. All dialogue was vulgar and filled with unnecessary profanity. Every character was extremely amoral or even evil with motivations that didn't go past engaging in sex and drug use for the sake of it. It worked for a while but became tiresome when the novelty wore off.  As they say, all extremes are bad.

It's funny because  the same phenomenon has practically happened in the Franco-Belgian comic strip, during the 1970s.
Authors enjoyed much more freedom but we felt they did not know what to do with it... " Métal Hurlant " and several other magazines died during the 1980s. And then, the Japanese comic book arrived, and young readers have preferred to buy mangas !
Today, I find that the Franco-Belgian comics has difficulty renewing themselves. The authors try to imitate the great classics of the years 1950-1960 ... Or, they are inspired by manga.

We're all getting older.

Also, I have to applaud all the little asides and easter yeggs in this comic.

Oh indeed, some things are actually hard to explain... I can imagine "explain this to a robot" being some kind of psychological practice or something.
