This has been a little side project I’ve been working on in the evening to unwind, since it doesn’t require as much brain work as writing. When Syrus introduced an alternate universe version of Culania, he looked identical to the normal version. I thought it would be fun if I designed some alternate costumes for this adorable ball of adorableness, for Alternate universe versions. I also made this entirely in GIMP, no scanning required!
-Outline: This is just a base outline I made to copy and paste several times onto the canvas for the different costumes. I left it here in case I ever want to make some more.
-Fancy Pants: This Culania is meant to represent his Monarch/ God Status. The featured piece is the striped short pants that a lot of royalty in cartoons tend to wear, I don’t know it’s official name though, maybe a petticoat? We also have a cloth shirt and elegant waistcoat. And yes, he’s still diapered under those pants.
-Web Diaper: This was based on an idea for a story that I’ll either write myself or commission someone for. In this story, Culania, through one means or another, was shrunk, but his clothes didn’t shrink with him. Before he could fully grasp the situation, he was abducted by a Spider, who wrapped him in a thick cocoon. Fortunately, Culania managed to break free, and left part of the cocoon on his rump to give himself a makeshift diaper. I got the idea from the bizarre Russian movie “The Extraordinary Adventures of Karik and Valya”.
-Jumper/ Shortalls: I didn’t think of much of a story for this one, I just felt Culania would look adorbs in a pair of shortalls, or is it called a Jumper? Maybe this version can appeal to Culania’s more youthful side.
-Nightshirt: We’ve seen Culania in footed pajamas, so why not go old fashioned and try out a Nightshirt? Whether he’s flying with Peter Pan, swapping places with Andrew/ Drew, or being abducted by the BFG, he’ll fit right in! Let’s just hope he’s still wearing a diaper though, cause it would be very embarrassing if he came across a gust of wind…
-Ninja: In this scenario, Culania somehow loses his regular wardrobe, but one of the Terriermon Ninjas loans him it’s outfit until he can recover/ repair his own clothes. It has a few modifications for his use, such as the addition of his Moon insignia on the hood and a cloth diaper instead of disposable. It also uses a single pin instead of a safety pin, based on one I saw in another commission. Probably not as secure as a safety pin though.
-Doppelganger: I thought this up while writing an alternate universe story for Culania, an Evil Doppelganger. Instead of being the God of Dreams, he is a Specter of Nightmares. He wears a modified version of Culania’s onesie, with different coloration, more detailed star patterns, and an eclipse symbol instead of a moon symbol. He also wears the same kind of stringed diaper Culania normally wears, even though he doesn’t need them.
Culania belongs to Agumonofalchemy. I might have to do commissions based on this idea (not open yet).
