Silent was the night, a garden lit by only the moonlight in the starless sky, a silouhette figured graced across a wall in the lit attic. A seemingly ghostly figured graced across the room in a unsettling manner, the chimming of the clock sung out through the house signalling it was 3am, as the last chime sang, a heart stopping scream echoed through each room as the attic light dimmed itself as though the switch had been shut off by an unknown force.

75 years later...

"Come on Mike, cheer up, the move to a quieter place won't be so bad. Besides, the new house could have secret rooms for you to discover~" Raphael smiled at him as the taxi drove up to the driveway of their new home.

Mike sighed as he slumped in the back seat of the taxi, glancing out of the window at the scene before him, the garden looked as though it needed a good once over from a professional gardener with plenty of lawn feed, the flowers were in need of a burial from the looks of them. The place needed a serious pick-me-up before it looked livable, the house was indeed sturdy to survive at least for another hundred years, but the paint work needed doing, windows bleach washing before you could at least see a tiny amount out of them, havens knows what the inside would look like. "But daddy, this place looks like frankenstein's creator used to live here, it's a wreck, no wonder you got it like super cheap. You need to spend maybe millions to get it looking at least good."

"Don't exhaggerate, it won't take that much to get it looking like home, a bit of paint and mowing and it'll look great, c'mon help me get the bags out of the trunk, it's mostly your stuff that's crammed in there," Raphael chuckled as he got out of the taxi and walked to the boot of the car, taking out his own luggage, making sure that Mike did his own work and not laze around for the work to be done by itself. Once the driver was paid, the car left the two to the house.

"Daddy really I don't know about this place, what if it was a home to a mad scientist who made all his crazy experiments here and some are still left in a basement somewhere just waiting to get us?? Or someone died here! Like maybe murdered for not doing something like giving their share of stolen loot, or maybe like murdered and robbed and the body is still in one of the rooms or the attic and it's seeking vengance on the next ones who live here! Vampires even! We'll be sucked dry!!" Mike replied in haste as they entered the house, dragging his four cases of luggage by the handles, glancing around the area, it didn't look too bad considering it had been abandoned for 75 years, a little dusty but nothing of some spring cleaning would bring it back to livelyhood again, maybe some new paint and a few new carpets and it would be fit for a king. "What if I just stayed in a hotel or something?"

"Ok no more horror movies for you anymore, everything you see is based from one of those movies, a week ago you accused our mail man for being a vampire because he did a night delivery and that he looked pale, the week before that you said your gym teacher was a werewolf because she didn't shave her legs, you even accused your science teacher for being a mad scientist because his hair looked like the one from a movie, it didn't even occur to you that it was a windy day and his hair was just in a mess, no more accusations. I don't want to hear of vampires, mummies, ghouls, mad scientists, nothing, I'm likely to turn into a mad turtle from hearing it everyday and almost every hour and no you are not going to stay in a hotel, you are staying here with me, end of story, soooooo go pick a room," Raphael sighed placing his luggage down as he escorted himself into the living area of the house, making notes of what changes were to be made, from furniture to paintwork and carpeting.

"Not my fault if they were pale, hairy or crazy looking," Mike muttered to himself as he dragged his luggage up the staircase and glanced around, "guess I better pick a good room, maybe one that isn't spooky looking like the rest of the house, by my luck I'll probably pick one where all the blood used to be, or where the victims were murdered. Man if I get dreams of that stuff I'm so leaving..Or maybe go see a pschycologist about it, those guys know about that stuff, I think," he said, slowly he made his way to the first room, a moment of hesitation before opening the door and snuck a look, expecting to see the walls stained with old blood. However to his surprise and relief he saw none, other than old paint that had been worn by time, it defintely could use some fresh paint with some taste of colour other than a dull grey, possibly a new bed also. It definitely looked like the bed had seen some use in its time, even if it was kept neat, the cover looked almost mouldy and worn of its use, the frame of the bed looked as though it would crumble by the slightest touch and vanish into a dust like state given by the rusty features.

"Mike? Have you picked a room yet?" Raphael called as he neared the staircase to inspect other rooms.

"Not yet daddy! Still looking, but I think you should get new beds or make some rooms up here into something else, this bed looks like it needs a funeral!" He replied closing the door and ventured further along the upstairs corridor to another door, reaching out to take hold of the handle, he glanced down the remaining corridor, "who built this place to have so many rooms upstairs? What were they expecting? A huge party of people to sleep over every night- wha? Okay wait a minute, why is there a door at the very end of the room? Where the heck is it going to lead to? I mean it's right at a dead end, like seriously dude...Eh, maybe the guy was like a prankster and put a door there to lead to a brick wall or something..Why am I talking to myself?" Rolling his eyes, Mike placed his luggage against the second door and proceeded towards the end door, expecting to see a brick wall once opened, to his surprise he did not see a wall, instead he saw a flight of stairs leading up to the attic he assumed. Curious of what could be up there and going against his better judgement, Mike began his journey up the flight of stairs to be met by another door, this one however was locked. Strange, all the doors were meant to be unlocked, as told by the one who sold it to Raphael, he specifically remembered Raphael being told that every room within that house had been unlocked for them to inspect. One was missed, accidentally or was it purposly missed? If so, why? What were they hiding in there as to keep it locked? He didn't know, but he was going to find out.
